To create a sense of privacy, this villa was designed with two main entrances. One opening towards the family room and service space. The other opening towards the formal living and dining room. Different entrances for different occasions without imposing on one another.

To achieve a sense of spacial hierarchy, the front elevation is a one story plan while the back elevation is a two story plan. The reason for this is to form different levels of volume. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing but there is function in its form. Its ceilings variate in height through out the structure to enhance a prominent sense of change in space. An obvious transition from one program to another. You know you are leaving the kitchen as you enter the living room.

The front elevation consisting mostly of the ground floor, incorporates most of the homes program, which includes three bedrooms, family sitting, inside kitchen, dining room, living room and finally the formal living room. The back elevation which is now transitioning to the upper floor of the home, includes the service area and a guest bedroom.

Its concrete structure gives it a strong foundation. Columns that stand tall as it invites the occupant towards the formal entrance.

The Mediterranean style has great balance of inviting nature into its space, which was achieved by creating a courtyard. This allows for plenty of natural light into the house, making it feel more spacious. The courtyard is attached to a water fountain as it raps around the side of the structure.
